Programme
The programme for GeoENV10 has been completed with the speakers of each session.Publications
Key factors that have contributed most to the success of the geoENV conference series are the careful selection of presentations and the peer review of papers submitted for publication in a special conference volume. For this task, geoENV relies on a Scientific Committee that includes the most prestigious geostatisticians from all over the world. In the past papers have been published in a high quality geoENV book, but for this edition we will use a different publication procedure:- At registration an extended abstract must be submitted. If accepted, it will be distributed at the conference in a book of abstracts with ISBN. The Book of Abstracts of geoENV 2010 can now be downloaded.
- Contributors will be invited to submit at the conference a full paper for publication in a special issue of the International Journal “Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment” (WoS indexed). These papers will go through the regular peer review process of this journal.
- There will be no geoENV book.
Keynote speakers
We are pleased to announce that the keynote speakers for this event will be:- Dr. Céline Scheidt and Prof. Dr. Jef Caers, theme: "Spatial modeling with ensembles in metric space" Department of Energy Resources Engineering, Stanford University, USA
- Prof. Dr. Andras Bardossy, theme: "Geostatistical interpolation using copulas" Institute of Hydraulic Engineering, University of Stuttgart, Germany
- Prof. Dr. George Christakos, theme: "Spatiotemporal Geostatistics and the Environment: Crossing Parmenides' Gates and Morrison’s Doors" Department of Geography, San Diego State University, USA
Pre-conference workshops
Two 2-days workshops will be organized immediately before the conference (11-12 September 2010):- "Introduction to geostatistics" by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Boucher, Department of Environmental Earth System Science, Stanford University, USA
- "Model-based geostatistics with environmental and epidemiological applications" by Prof. Dr. Peter Diggle, School of Health and Medicine, Lancaster University and Department of Biostatistics, Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, UK
For registration to a pre-conference workshop only, please contact Liesbet Cockx (geoenv10@ugent.be).
Post'Art Session
With your powerful geostatistical simulation algorithms, you certainly already have produced beautiful images. Why then not turning geostatistical simulation into pictural art?For the first time at geoENV, a specific Post'Art Session will be dedicated to your most attractive artistic productions.
Rules:
- Submit your nicest image in poster format (A3 size).
- Under the image, give a short description of how they were obtained (data, simulation algorithm, etc.).
- The deadline for submission is 30 June 2010.
